Canberra Camp 2021
Happy campers.. first pit stop in Mokoan!
Wow… what a jam packed day we have had!! We visit Regatta Point to learn about the Australia’s Capital City and the history and development of Canberra. Then we spent some time at the Royal Australian Mint where we learnt about the the history of Australian coins and saw the minting process. After lunch we went to Mt Ainslie Lookout where we got a foggy but spectacular views of Canberra. The War Memorial was a solemn and touching experience, where we honoured the past servicemen and women.
Another wet, soggy and busy day on the Canberra front.
After our early morning breakfast we set off to the Electoral Centre where we consolidated our learning on the voting process, then we went to the CSIRO where we learnt that they developed WiFi and invented aerogard. Our visit to Parliament was definitely a highlight, we got to experience a sitting and the passing of a bill. We also visited the Senate and House of Reps and we saw and explored an awesome LEGO model of Parliament House. Bowling was a blast, and we had so much fun.. it got dirty down to the end! 🙂
Finally, a day with no rain!!! We visited the National Portrait Gallery and learnt about different people who have made an impact in Australia. Then we took a scenic cycle around Lake Burley Griffin, which was beautiful. After lunch, we took a stroll down Anzac Parade and learnt about the significant military memorials and the service and sacrifice of soldiers. Our last stop for our Canberra trip 2021 was the Museum of Australian Democracy, where we learnt about the leaders who shaped our nation.
Canberra, we have loved every minute… you have been amazing and an experience we’ll never forget!
Happy Friday everyone!!
We have had a super early start to the morning! We were on the road straight after breakfast and are about to stop for lunch in Benala.
We have had the most amazing and best time in Canberra! We had some tired little cherubs on board. We’ll keep you posted about our estimated time of arrival.
See you all a bit later 🙂
